Installation, service, maintenance and support
dormakaba Keyscan Aurora Login, Software Download and System VII Migration Guide
Keyscan Aurora is an on-premises access-control platform with optional web, SQL, integration and client modules. A support or upgrade project should start with the installed Aurora release, database and server architecture, license ownership, panels and recovery records—not with a blind software download.
We install, configure, service, maintain and support dormakaba products and systems. Work can include survey, engineering, procurement, field installation, software setup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, administrator training and lifecycle planning.

Keyscan Aurora software and lifecycle planning: decisions before procurement
Aurora desktop and web access
Document database/communication servers, clients, web module, ports, certificates, administrators, remote access, supported operating systems and who owns registration credentials.
Downloads, drivers and licenses
Match the current release, update path, device drivers and optional modules to the exact installation. Preserve activation, license and support records in the customer’s protected repository.
System VII migration
Inventory panels, readers, credentials, access levels, schedules, reports, integrations and history; verify supported Aurora migration paths and stage validation before retirement.
Scope the complete installed system
| Planning area | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Software baseline | Aurora version, server/client roles, Windows/SQL versions, services, database size, backups, web client, licensed modules and integrations. |
| Panels and communications | Controller models, firmware, IP/serial paths, communication modules, panels per server, time/NTP and offline behavior. |
| Security and ownership | Named administrators, least privilege, certificate/port exposure, backup encryption, recovery contacts and dealer/customer license records. |
| Upgrade evidence | Official package, release notes, prerequisites, lab/pilot result, backup restore test, rollback, door testing and acceptance sign-off. |
Installation, upgrade and acceptance workflow
- Survey each opening, door and frame construction, existing lock/closer, egress, fire interface, accessibility, power, pathways and network before selecting hardware.
- Inventory the exact software, version, license or tenant owner, panels, hubs, locks, readers, credentials, firmware, integrations and administrator-recovery path.
- Confirm current manufacturer compatibility and documentation; prepare a model-specific bill of materials, wiring plan and responsibility matrix.
- Install and configure power, network, controllers or hubs, locks, readers, sensors, schedules, holidays, roles, credentials, alerts and approved integrations.
- Test authorized, denied, held, forced, request-to-exit, fire-release, communication-loss, power-loss and recovery behavior at every affected opening.
- Deliver as-builts, device/version records, account and license ownership, acceptance results, administrator training and a preventive-maintenance plan.
Common buyer and administrator questions
Where is the Keyscan Aurora login?
Aurora access depends on the customer’s installed client or optional web-client address; it is not a universal public cloud login. Obtain the approved URL and account from the system owner.
Where should Aurora updates be downloaded?
Use dormakaba’s official Software Downloads & Updates page and Keyscan knowledge base. Confirm version sequence and entitlement before installation.
Can System VII be repaired indefinitely?
dormakaba lists System VII as end-of-life. A safe plan inventories reusable hardware and data, then defines a supported Aurora migration and acceptance process.
What affects Aurora upgrade cost?
Server/SQL work, licenses/modules, panel compatibility, database remediation, integrations, remote sites, testing, training and after-hours cutover drive installed cost.
