Installation, service, maintenance and support
ASSA ABLOY Aperio Pricing, Credentials, Integration and Maintenance Guide
Aperio can reduce new cable and door disruption, but a complete budget still includes the host access-control platform, hubs, lock/device preparation, credentials, commissioning and recurring battery and support work. Compare total lifecycle cost and operational fit—not only the wireless lock price.
We install, configure, service, maintain and support ASSA ABLOY Aperio products and systems. Work can include survey, engineering, procurement, field installation, software setup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, administrator training and lifecycle planning.

Wireless access lifecycle and installed cost: decisions before procurement
Installed cost drivers
Include device and trim, communication hubs, host panels/licenses, door prep, credentials, programming tools, radio survey, labor, training, batteries, spares and support.
Credentials and mobile access
Choose current supported RFID or mobile credential methods based on security, host EAC, reader/device model, issuance, user experience and migration—not brand name alone.
Maintenance and modernization
Track battery health and replacement, radio quality, door/lock condition, firmware and host compatibility, event integrity, spare availability and expansion constraints.
Scope the complete installed system
| Planning area | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Door population | Perimeter/interior use, traffic, online-event need, opening type, fire/egress, environment, credential and required audit. |
| Architecture | Host EAC, panels, hubs/interfaces, radio survey, network/RS-485/Wiegand, capacity, licenses, resilience and future doors. |
| Operations | User/card lifecycle, mobile provisioning, alarms/events, remote command, battery alerts, maintenance windows and help desk. |
| Acceptance | Credential grant/deny, event timestamps, remote command, communication loss, battery alert, free egress, fire/power behavior and recovery. |
Installation, upgrade and acceptance workflow
- Survey each opening, door and frame construction, existing lock/closer, egress, fire interface, accessibility, power, pathways and network before selecting hardware.
- Inventory the exact software, version, license or tenant owner, panels, hubs, locks, readers, credentials, firmware, integrations and administrator-recovery path.
- Confirm current manufacturer compatibility and documentation; prepare a model-specific bill of materials, wiring plan and responsibility matrix.
- Install and configure power, network, controllers or hubs, locks, readers, sensors, schedules, holidays, roles, credentials, alerts and approved integrations.
- Test authorized, denied, held, forced, request-to-exit, fire-release, communication-loss, power-loss and recovery behavior at every affected opening.
- Deliver as-builts, device/version records, account and license ownership, acceptance results, administrator training and a preventive-maintenance plan.
Common buyer and administrator questions
Is Aperio priced per door?
Hardware is door-specific, but hubs, host licenses/panels, credentials, programming, door prep and labor are shared or variable. Survey before comparing per-door figures.
How often are batteries replaced?
Interval varies with device, traffic, environment, battery type and radio conditions. Use manufacturer guidance and operational alerts, then maintain a documented replacement plan.
Does Aperio work with any access-control system?
It is designed for broad integration, but exact host platform/version, interface, device and feature support must be verified before procurement.
Can Aperio be added during an occupied renovation?
Often, because wireless devices can reduce new door cabling. Door condition, code, radio coverage, shutdown windows and commissioning still require planning.
