Commercial vehicle-access planning
DoorKing gate operator pricing, manuals, safety and service
Choose a DKS operator by gate type, weight, length, duty cycle, speed, wind/loading, site geometry, power and safety—not by a model number copied from another property.

Operator family and site fit
Swing operators
Evaluate hinge condition, arm geometry, slope, wind, available sweep, pedestrian separation and crush/pinch zones before considering 6050/6100, 6300, 6500/6550 or actuator/underground families.
Slide operators
Evaluate gate roll/track, cantilever hardware, tail length, chain, posts, screening, grade, snow/debris, travel limits and exposed reach-through hazards before selecting the duty class.
Barrier and overhead
Vehicle lanes, arm length, lane speed, traffic control, loop/reader logic, breakaway needs, clearance and building door construction change the design.

Manual and troubleshooting discipline
DoorKing publishes separate manuals for current, 2016–2018 and earlier production periods on multiple operator families. Match the label and revision before interpreting terminals, limits, LEDs, safety inputs or parts. A generic “6300 manual” search is not enough.
- Make the area safe and record the exact symptom and recent weather/work/power events.
- Inspect the gate mechanically before blaming the control board.
- Verify supply, grounding, batteries, limits, monitored devices and input status using the correct manual.
- Test all safety, access, emergency and open/close/stop workflows after repair.
- Document parts, settings, force/safety results and the next maintenance interval.
