Enterprise access software lifecycle
Bosch AMS downloads, versions, licensing and server architecture
Use the official Bosch Download Store, select the release supported by every subsystem, and treat the server, database, Master Access Controller, licenses and integrations as one controlled change.

AMS architecture decisions
Application and database
Document supported Windows and SQL versions, server sizing, service identities, certificates, time synchronization, backups, recovery and client connectivity.
MAC and controller layer
The Master Access Controller provides a resilience layer between AMS and AMC controllers. Define MAC/R-MAC design, controller groups, offline operation and network boundaries.
Licensing and options
License bundles, door/cardholder capacity and optional Mobile Access, Visitor Management, Credential Management, Map View, API and integrations must match the exact release and quote.
Do not rely on generic Lite, Plus and Pro numbers
AMS packaging and capacities change by version, market and commercial bundle. The supplied 16-to-10,000-door and 400,000-credential figures may describe particular material, but they should not be published as universal current limits without the dated AMS 6.1 license datasheet and project entitlement. Our proposals identify the exact SKU, version, base capacity, extensions and optional applications.
| Confirm | Evidence required |
|---|---|
| Release | Installer version, release notes, checksum and supported upgrade path |
| Capacity | Licensed doors, cardholders, clients, MACs and optional features |
| Dependencies | Windows, SQL, certificates, browser/client and controller firmware compatibility |
| Recovery | Application/database backup, license recovery, rollback and tested restore |
Controlled upgrade sequence
- Inventory AMS/BIS, BVMS, intrusion, controllers, readers, APIs and custom integrations.
- Obtain the authorized installer and current manuals from the official store.
- Back up configuration and databases; verify license and certificate recovery.
- Test the upgrade path in a representative environment, including integrations and controller communications.
- Commission users, doors, alarms, maps, video verification, reporting, outage and rollback workflows.
