Hartmann Readers, Mobile Credentials & Setup
Reader installation, credential migration, mobile-access enrollment, programming, troubleshooting and administrator support.

Reader and credential decisions affect security and migration
Hartmann’s published reader choices include single-gang and mullion proximity formats plus Bluetooth and NFC-capable options. Supported technologies can include Hartmann 40-bit and selected HID, AWID or Pyramid proximity formats, while controller interfaces may use Wiegand or OSDP depending on the model and design.
We survey the current card population and reader wiring, identify format and facility-code dependencies, confirm mobile-device policy and build a transition plan that avoids locking valid users out during cutover.

What we install and configure
Proximity readers
Mullion or single-gang models are selected for mounting surface, weather, traffic, read range and the exact credential format. Existing credentials are tested rather than presumed compatible.
Bluetooth and NFC
Mobile-capable readers require supported hardware, application enrollment, phone permissions and a revocation workflow. We configure the system and train administrators on issuance and replacement.
Wiegand and OSDP
Wiegand may fit existing wiring; OSDP can add supervised bidirectional communications when the reader, controller, cable topology and release all support it. We commission the chosen protocol end to end.
HC Key and mobile tools
Hartmann mobile tools can support credential or administration workflows depending on the platform and release. We verify app availability, account ownership, permissions and device-security policy.
Specialty openings
Keypads, paired readers, ADA operator sequencing, anti-passback and mantrap logic are programmed only after the physical door and operating procedure are documented.
Service and replacement
We troubleshoot intermittent reads, damaged cabling, grounding, power, format mismatch and controller communications before replacing hardware, then retest every affected credential path.
Credential setup and acceptance checklist
Before enrollment
- Document card technology and bit format
- Identify duplicate-number and facility-code risk
- Agree on badge, mobile and temporary credential policy
- Define lost-device and terminated-user response
Before handoff
- Test approved and denied transactions
- Verify door names, schedules and access levels
- Prove offline controller behavior
- Train operators to issue, suspend and audit credentials
